How to contact Google Wallet customer service
You can reach Google Wallet by phone or through its official chat / help centre. Have your account email or phone, any order or reference number, and a short description of the problem ready so support can help you faster.
Most people contact Google Wallet about 5 common issues — including card won't add to google wallet and tap-to-pay not working. Step-by-step fixes for each are below.
Have this ready before you contact Google Wallet
- The email or phone on your wallet account
- The transaction amount, date and recipient
- The last 4 digits of the linked card (never the full number)
Common Google Wallet problems and how to fix them
Card won't add to Google Wallet
Update the Wallet app, confirm your bank supports it and that your phone has a screen lock. Your bank may need to verify the card.
Tap-to-pay not working
Turn on NFC, set Google Wallet as the default payment app, and unlock the phone before tapping.
Unrecognized Google Pay charge
Review it at pay.google.com. For Google Payment errors call the number above; for card charges contact your bank.
Payment declined
Try another card and check with your card issuer — declines are decided by the bank, not Google.
Lost phone
Use Find My Device to lock or erase the phone — this removes access to Wallet. Google never calls to ask for codes.
Common Google Wallet scams to avoid
- Anyone calling as 'Google Wallet support' — Google doesn't make unsolicited support calls.
- Requests to buy Google Play gift cards to pay a bill or fine.
- Texts asking you to verify a card with a code you didn't request — that code adds your card to the scammer's phone.
- Fake 'Google Pay' sites or apps outside the Play Store.
